Oracle is well positioned to profit from the growth of the Wintel platform. Oracle runs well on NT and is widely recognized to be a superior database for enterprise scale deployments....the high end of the market that Intel has its sights set on. Microsofts database, called MS SQLServer, also runs on NT of course but is not nearly as robust as Oracle. Oracle's challenge is that MS can afford to" give away" SQLServer to blunt Oracle's sales on the NT platform.
