The NHC is resorting to posting there infamous "No Tropical Cyclones at This Time" message as we get deeper into September. The season has been a major bust and follows about 6 or 7 years of very weak storms.

I was directly affected by Charley, Francis, Ivan, Jeanne, Katrina and Wilma. Since then the only storm to scare the dickens out of me was Igor but it turned thanks to Bennie. Irene first hit hurricane force winds about 10 miles from my boat but then diminished as she crossed over Puerto Rico.

Looks like the MJO is hiding in the Western Pacific currently.
