Why didn't people redouble on the New Deal i/o rejecting it? What with " the war manufacturing had shut down and all the troops were coming home looking for jobs...of which there were none?" My point was that was the first time, voters had had a choice between a pro and anti New Deal set of candidates. Incredibly, Republicans ran pro New Deal liberal candidates throughout the FDR years.
