I don't think a gas line freeze can happen now... but in those days some water in the mix and it could. There were additives to avoid it, which I used from that day forward. This was about 42 years ago, give or take. And I was wearing a suit, the only coat I had was a dress coat. Dress shoes. I was toast (or better an ice cube).
