Arizona leans Republican, but it's getting less and less conservative with every year. Part of that has to do with the illegal alien issue. However, like Colorado, we've had a growing influx of people come in from the liberal side of the country to retire, bringing all their lib baggage with them. In fact, the editorial page of the Arizona Republic, the largest paper in Arizona and once reliably conservative, now has quite the progressive bias.

It seems like almost every transplant that moves to Phoenix these days is from Chicago.
