We must be totally fked if we've amended the thing more than once on average per decade since our country was founded... (nearly once if you don't count the original ten amendments). Amending the Constitution, according to its own allowable parameters, leaves intact the intent of the most brilliant blueprint for governance ever devised by the mind of man. Ignoring it, or perverted its intent for power-hungry, wealth-amassing ends, renders it meaningless. Try to wrap your mind around the anything-but-subtle difference.
