Until ZEN, none of the natural graphites could get to 99.5% purity economically-except Sri Lanka maybe. If you wanted that purity, you needed to manufacture it at a cost of $5000 and up and the characteristics were not as good as natural.

The game is still at the early stage. Some flake players can produce 99.5% and up purity at much less than that.

Energizer and Mason are at greater than 99.9% on first pass purification test.
Focus is already at 98.3% from flotation and has yet to start purification tests.

Theses 3 have higher grade deposits. (FMS is 15% Mason is 24%) and lower strip ratio. Costs will be much lower for capex, mining and milling. They have very positive preliminary economic studies in place for normal concentrate up to 96-98% grade

FMS is working very closely with Hydro-Quebec on a graphene for battery product.

LLG are pros in the graphite mining business and are very well connected in the business with several connection with end users They know the market. Their PEA suggest a cost of $390 per tonne for graphite concentrate up to 96% grade. What will an addition purification step will cost?

Northern Graphite is there also, but there the costs are higher.

There are no information available on the costs for these additional purification tests. And no indication on market acceptance.

So yes, it seems that ZEN has 99.9%+ out of the gate and will likely save the purification process. It will probably be the first to provide high purity samples to the market. But it will also have much higher, capex, mining and milling costs.

In the end, there may be place for more than one player. Time will tell. The race is on.
