Let's say your City Council was planning to do something Really Dumb... Something that could be corrected after the next election though. Would it be better to let that really dumb thing go through and then run "against it" in the next election or would it be better to go out and BURN DOWN the whole town to make your point. Well, the Republicans seem to be looking to burn down the whole town (so to speak) over Obama Care and any other thing they're ticked about. If that happens the voters may be mad about Obama Care but they'll be madder about the destruction to their lives caused by those ZEALOTs that really screwed EVERYTHING up.
