Yes, Micron Electronics XKE. Sad thing is, I got a hell of a deal on it--negotiated with them like a terrorist with hostages! And then I also got another $900 price cut.
I have owned ADPT for a while. Strange to see that it came down last week--why did they wait so long to bundle it with disk drive woes? I don't get it, cause ADPT (like MSFT with PCs) depends on unit volume for their SCSI controllers. All indications are that although oversupply has crushing pricing, unit volume growth for drives remains very strong. So that should be good (actually, a non-event, since price falls don't spur much more unit sales--people just get bigger drives instead....hmm, now that I think of it, it could actually be bad that, for example, one 5.0 GB drive is being purchased instead of two 2.5 GB drives) for ADPT.
MSFT pays the bills, yes. In fact, most of the software stocks have been marvalous. I've been touting MSFT, PSFT, SEBL, SAPHY, CHKPF (why do I feel like I'm forgetting one?) via emails to friends. More recently, MANU and HNCS (credit to Bill Harmond for reminding me about HNCS (which, BTW, I sold in early summer damn 22 bucks!)) as well. Outside of software, I've been rolling in it cause of YHOO for a long long time. And as always, CSCO is the man. |
