Exactly how does that work in real life? I have never read, seen or heard of anyone who worships the government.
People worship in different ways. For example in communist China or the former Soviet-Union government structure and hierarchy replaced all forms of personal devotion to religion. If you were not a party member and did not kiss the ass of the right people your life and your families life might not be very rewarding.

"In modern society and sociology, some writers have commented on the ways that people no longer simply worship organised religions, but many now also worship consumer brands, sports teams, and other people ( celebrities). Sociology therefore extends this argument to suggest that religion and worship is a process whereby society worships itself, as a form of self-valorization and self-preservation."

What you do think would be a good legal limit for alcohol?
I have zero toleration for drinking and driving.
If so, then I absolutely do not see the logical connection. What do either of these men have to do with our government?
Their evil philosophies permeate modern thinking. rebirthofreason.com
If I don't believe in democracy or I believe in freeing Jefferson's slaves, does
that mean I don't have to pay taxes?
I believe every citizen and corporation should pay their fair share and a fair share would be a percentage of your gross income. I don't believe in deductions, deferrals or massive rule books. Keep the tax code simple fair and clean. Right now it is an arbitrary set of nightmarish rules that everyone is in violation of.

I believe Ayn Rand had this in mind when she wrote:

"Did you really think we want those laws observed?" said Dr. Ferris. "We want them to be broken. You'd better get it straight that it's not a bunch of boy scouts you're up against... We're after power and we mean it... There's no way to rule innocent men. The only power any government has is the power to crack down on criminals. Well, when there aren't enough criminals one makes them. One declares so many things to be a crime that it becomes impossible for men to live without breaking laws. Who wants a nation of law-abiding citizens? What's there in that for anyone? But just pass the kind of laws that can neither be observed nor enforced or objectively interpreted – and you create a nation of law-breakers – and then you cash in on guilt. Now that's the system, Mr. Reardon, that's the game, and once you understand it, you'll be much easier to deal with."
So, you think she was referring to communists as being the essence of evil?

Communists expropriated her father's pharmacy in Russia and drove them into poverty so she perhaps had an axe to grind. She was first and foremost a fiction writer and would elaborate to make a point. Love her or hate her she was a genius and I don't know another case of a writer learning a second language and then becoming an influential best selling writer in that language.
Do you think that unions are becoming a bigger problem.
This cartoon explains my feelings on unions.

And this cartoon perfectly explains faith in modern science.
