Vancouver got lucky; the most intense part of the storm veered towards less inhabited areas at the last minute yesterday. That said, all the ferries to the various islands were shut down most of yesterday, and there are still a few thousand homes without power as I type. Now I am waiting for a break to get out on my bike and run some errands before the predicted 100 kph winds and chance of thunderstorms this afternoon. LC
