Have a close Jewish (former girl-) friend, grew up in Tel Aviv, spent many years on the UK including adding a UK passport to her Israel citizenship and then got back to and got married in Israel. She always made it quite clear to me, the difference between Jews and Israelis, all according to her opinion. Her idea of those Jews being typically NYC people with the Israelis being in her words the majority of peace loving citizens of Israel.
