One aspect (of many) that annoys me about the way Congress and the POTUS treat the debt-ceiling law is the fact that it was enacted to force the government to behave more responsibly when incurring more debt. The law is supposed to make it extremely difficult to add more debt. Despite the intentions of Congress at its origin, the debt-ceiling law it is now regarded and treated as a bastard step-child that should be cast out!

As with the other million or so emergency-level issues, the fact that they would treat this very important law with such contempt and scorn is also simply unbelievable to anyone with a rational, logical mind.

Congress should not only eliminate all deficits, but also they should also pay down the federal debt, slash taxes, and pass legislation to lower the debt ceiling annually until it reaches zero. The government should always operate in the black, and taxes should also be slashed to the core. I can tell them exactly how to do all of that, as I'm sure most successful conservatives could do. It's not hard and it is not rocket science, unless one is a psychotic thief and liar -- like the elected crooks in the U.S. government!

...and on that note, I hope you enjoy your trip GZ! Drop us a line when you can! -g-
