Cheers back to you Eric,

I did know that the Windows figures were contaminated by contributions from Windows Mobile, but did not have exact figures. Either way, the point is clear-- Microsoft has a tough row to hoe to truly break free of the gravitational pull that 3% US share seems to hold on its mobile influence.

I can't say that I have much confidence that the following will materially change their fortunes here. I don't know what will. Instagram is the reason my wife's 3 month experiment with a Lumia 521 failed (she got her first iPhone yesterday, and she went from a $10/mo incremental adder on my T-Mobile family plan to a $90/mo standalone Verizon sub. Oh well, she seems much happier).

"GDR 3 with quad-core Scorpion and higher resolution display support can't come to soon for Nokia (and Microsoft) for their US flagship models."
