Re: Reputation of German computer magazine C't

C't is the best and mostly read German computer magazine. In fact, IMO
it is the best and most objective magazine I have seen including US
magazines.

I have read the recent C't article about the Nomai XHD disc. All C't
wrote was that they tested it on a SCSI, ATAPI, and PP drive, and
that it worked flawlessly on those. They mentioned that IOM is
claiming incompatibility with notebook drives, but they didn't test
one themselves. Anyhow their testing was certainly not very extensive.
All the short article (half a page) wanted to show was that a possibly
compatible disc exists. They were in no sense recommending it.

C't is far from being negative about IOM. Just recently they had a
longer article about what is going to replace the floppy, and they
came to the conclusion that zip has by far the best chances.
In their last issue they also reviewed the Nomai 750MB drive, and only
gave it an average rating.
