Actually, the real myth is that those people don't pay their medical bills. Most young people with jobs who walk away from expensive medical bills get chased by bill collectors until they work out a payment plan. Half of what taxpayers pay for emergency rooms is for low income deadbeats -- who are eligible for medicaid but never bothered to sign up. The other half is for illegals.
