Truth is I think it was mostly the Fed that is causing these bubbles and busts. Their easy money and interest rates, then tightening, then back again causes these extreme cycles. Of course, the GOP masterminding the destruction of Glass-Steagle and Clinton signing off on it, didn't help either. We have a runaway financial industry now that isn't being held accountable. Both the GOP and Dems did that. You are hopelessly biased against the GOP, so every problem you blame on them. And they are blameworthy no doubt. But I do find it fascinating that the Dems are so pure as the driven snow in your mind.
