mel, I think if people spent more time reading their history books, they'd understand why Liberty and Democracy go hand in hand with economic freedoms, whereas when economic freedoms die, oftentimes that goes hand in hand with a slide towards Dictatorship or some other form of autocracy. It's an extreme naiveté to think that we can take these grand leaps to the nanny state and not accelerate our slide down the slippery slope to destroying what our founders fought for. Ben Frankling said that he bequeathed us "A Republic, if you can keep it." We're not doing a good job of keeping it, what with the Dems socialism/communism, the Fed Central Economic Planning, and the Obama NSA spying on Americans.

What has this country come to? It's starting to feel like Cuba.
