Johnny McCain played for Washington Republicans basketball team. He's been on the team for a long time. But you notice that when he's on defense he rarely puts much effort into covering his man. And when one of has teammates passes him the ball, he turns around and runs to the other team's basket and takes a shoot. After awhile you pull him out and put in teddy Cruz. Teddy may be brash and hot dog it a bit, but at least he covers his man on defense and takes shots on his own basket.

if you were johnny McCain's coach, would you keep him in the game just because he's been on the team longer?

what if the team's general manager insisted that you keep him in? Would you defy the manager? Or would you look for another team to coach?
