Not all the kids who went there were Catholic - heck we even had a couple of Jewish kids in my class.

I think though that my salient point is that we need competition in education, the government run mediocre monopoly is run for the benefit of the union not the teachers. There needs to be more choice for the parents.

I think you have a valid point about separation of religion and state but the fact remains that the public schools system is indoctrinating our kids with a belief paradigm that often runs contrary to those of the parents.
