DOE: Maybe we should defund it permanently.

* 1977 Jimmy Carter started the organisation to address the "oil crisis" of 1973.
* The original mandate was to reduce dependency on foreign oil (It was at 30% then and is at 70% now).
* 16,000 employees who've never produced one kilowatt of energy.
* One of the primary business of the current agency is interference with the development and production of American fuel, even though America has the potential to pass all other countries and be the world leader in this area. Mean while it is ok to spend on fuel rather than sell the same stuff?

Maybe we should stand up (fund) each government agency one at a time based on whether or not they are accomplishing what we want them to. That would never happen, makes too much sense.
