Moving day average has to have meaning to what average. Common interpretation is the average price people paid. It changes with time (the number 0f days). If you include trending only , the up slope or the down slope, then the average price of the stock is the price of the borrowed stock, market makers paid during the move. The average price will give you the down side risk in price expectation. The up slope or down slope could be any number of days, not neccessarily 50 or 200 days. Could be 5 days or 211 days. In the case of AMES the moving day average should be over 500 days. The stock had moved up 1000%, steadily over a long period of time. And the dips did not effect the climb; which is the reason to change the way to use the "days" of the moving average.
