No way. While the capabilities of the standard must be there in both instances, software drivers must be written specifically for the application and I'm sure each switch has features the other doesn't that can be taken advantage of. Think of when you plug in a new SVGA card in your computer, or attach a new printer. These items come with their own drivers and if they have features beyond the standard the drivers can take advantage of those features too.
