You have a valid point. But so do the pro life folks. Evolution conflicts with the bible. But science says the bible is wrong in a zillion places. So do we teach stuff science knows is wrong?

Democracy and societies are very complicated.

What we have to consider and I think most on the right misunderstand is the needs of society. To keep society strong so it can protect us.

Take this example. Texas Republicans had a platform issue against teaching higher order thinking.

We are in competition with China among other nations and they are all fully engaged in higher order thinking. Higher order thinking will always beat lower order thinking.

Example: Look at Israel. The entire Arab nation of over 100 million attacked them in 1967. The world was worried we were going to witness another genocide of the Jews.

Six days later they had defeated half the Middle east and were about to defeat them all and they had to pull them off. Egypt was totally defeated and Syria was close. . They shot down 86 Syrian migs and never lost a plane.

And what is the cardinal rule for Jewish culture. Every kid must be educated to the highest degree of higher order thinking they can manage.

We need it to protect ourselves. Education is the key in the modern world.
