Topper, Yes, I agree that it is usually best to buy before the dividend is announced, but when the stock is trading at a low after the dividend is announced and before the ex-date, it will usually rise. If not, then the stock is setting a new low which is unusual for stocks that are increasing earnings during a bull market.
