Miriam Carey Stamford CT Friends Call DC Shooting Tragic Mistake

LOS ANGELES (LALATE) – Miriam Carey’s Stamford, CT co workers are outraged over her Washington DC shooting today near the White House. Miriam Carey’s Facebook account (photos below) depicted a young, exceptional successful, employed, mother who was loved by her co-workers. But police were quick to call her “mentally ill”, a threat to DC safety. Yet they admitted that Miriam Carey was unarmed when they killed her, besides her daughter. Tonight, Carey’s friends tell news that her shooting was a terrible, tragic mistake by DC Police.
But who is Miriam Carey? An unnamed Miriam Carey with her one year old daughter seated besides her was besieged by Secret Service agents today. Their guns were drawn. They surrounded her car. And they aimed their guns at her face. At no time did video of the incident show that Miriam Carey had a weapon on her. And at no time during the video does it depict that Carey used her car against nearly a half dozen officers. She did try to get away. But she didn’t. They gunned her down.
Earlier officers surrounded her vehicle. And rather than shoot out her tires, they pointed their weapons at the dental hygienist’s face, while her daughter sat behind her. In any other city, a police pursuit of an unarmed suspect would not provide grounds for officers to kill the driver. So ironically, when this case ended, DC Police spoke to the news media in a stern voice asserting that that the suspect used her car as her “weapon”. They briefed members of Congress and claimed that Miriam Carey had a history of mental illness, a determination that they surprising had reached within minutes of killing her.

Yet which of these assertions by DC Police to the news media today were true? And why did they fatally shoot Miriam Carey unarmed with her daughter in her car rather than shoot out her tires? Police and, some, members of Congress were quick to call Miriam Carey a threat to the US Capitol, attempting to allegedly break through two security checkpoints with her car.

Yet this is not who Miriam Carey really was, claims her co-workers. Friends and coworkers tell the NYPost tonight that she was licensed to practice as a dental hygienist in two states. She owned a condo. She made more than a one hundred thousand dollars per year, currently. She was employed. She apparently loved her work. And by all accounts she did not suffer from mental illness, her friends claimed.
Donald Knowles knew Miriam Carey her whole life. Friend Tazzy Wright just went on vacation with her. Both say that their friend never had any “history” of mental illness.

The universal theme coming from friends tonight was that the mother may have made a wrong turn, that a “tragic misunderstanding” occurred, and that she became fearful for her life. Video shows Carey trying to flee for her life. Instead, cops gunned her down.
