How is that possible?
Do you know anything about Catholic schools today? My wife worked in Catholic HS and elementary schools for nearly 40 years. She is still part-time faculty at a Catholic college. When she started, it was the first year that school had any teachers that were not Nuns. There hasn't been a Nun in the classroom there for well over 10 years, and all of the Administration has been lay people for about 10 years. They no longer require non-Catholics to study religion or participate in religous services. It is just another private school that happens to be owned by the Church. It presumably offers a better educational experience since middle class families spend a lot of money to send their kids there instead of the free public schools.

On the other hand, public schools have to teach the religion of the left, political correctness, multiculturism and moral relativism. Dissent is never allowed. Different values, but no more tolerance than the Puritan schools of the 17th century.
