Given the history of China-Vietnam relations, it's not surprising that the Vietnamese might wish to downplay the Chinese contribution to their recent wars of liberation. They also won't acknowledge that Ho Chi Minh married a Chinese woman in a ceremony witnessed by Zhou Enlai's wife, pretending that Uncle Ho never married because he was devoted to the Vietnamese revolution. Honestly, have you ever heard of a celibate communist? ;)
