GWB created Medicare Part D. And the Democrats bashed him for it for years.

It was the most fiscally operational component of government health care in American history, using competition to reduce costs. The ONLY program of its nature ever to come in consistently under budget, and vastly so.

And it took the Democrats 7 years to destroy it.

I opposed it at the outset, warmed to it after its success, and after Obamacare, realized that there is no such thing as a well-functioning government health care program. Even if one starts out that way, in less than a decade the left will wreck it. Very much an eye-opener for me.
