What worries me tejek is the right wing keeps pushing us into unconstitutional positions. Honestly, I think our constitution as much a problem as a solution. The guys that wrote it were revolutionaries. They would probably think we were crazy to obsess on it 200+ years later. The basic principles are great, but it's way too tough to amend to fit in our present economic and political situation. We've got to kill gerrymandering. We've got to kill the huge corporate money in politics. Those are The Core problems. The bad guys have used the current constitution to twist the country into a banana republic. None were anticipated by the good people that wrote our original legal document. The Constitutionalists are like the religious fundamentalists. Reason doesn't matter. It's all how you can use the dogma to advance your agenda, to advance your constituency. The key is not the Constitution; the key is democracy. We need to amend the constitution to preserve democracy. We, the people, need to change this mess.
