Our daughter has been undergoing medical tests for the past couple of weeks. When her fiancé cannot take her, I drive down to Maryland and do so.
This past week I spent probably three hours sitting in a waiting room, and then another hour or so, in the ‘recovery room’ of the out-patient testing facility. Three observations became very clear to me during that stay:
(1) The American healthcare system is amazing. The equipment, medical professionals, and procedures are second to none … anywhere … or anytime … on earth.
(2) While watching CNN in the waiting room (something I never otherwise do), I became aware of just how much the mainstream media are attempting to sell the (often manufactured out of whole cloth) glories of Obamacare. I saw/heard a half dozen glowing reports, replete with bogus ‘savings’ and bogus claims of dramatic increases in the quality of healthcare that will be afforded to all Americans under the plan. And I saw/heard no negative reporting other than ‘purported’ minor flaws.
(3) This administration, and its cohorts in the media and on the Hill, are purposefully attempting to hijack, ration, and undermine the most advanced, compassionate healthcare system ever devised by the mind of man, with the sole purpose being to increase the power of the federal government in every American’s life, and to ration the quantity and quality of his healthcare, depending on how ‘valuable’ to society the bureaucracy deems him to be.
I am hard pressed to think of an American law, in our entire 200+ year history, with a more destructive outcome, or a more malevolent intent. |
