reasons to buy:

1.) Year-end tax selling has got to be close to over; Many sold out on Oct 27th, and in the days after. Now that 30 days have past, these sellers are looking to BUY back in for 1998. Just look at teh day the market had on 12-1-97, up 190 points, and 30 days to the day, from the Oct. 27th crash, if you take out the Thanksgiving day holidays.

2.) VVUS got 4 million i royalties from UK approval from what i've read; that's 12 cents directly to the EPS for this Q. And first call still hasn't changed to reflect this. So, one of 2 things will happen. First call will change their numbers prior to earnings release, or VVUS will blow out the estimate.

3.) VVUS historically runs up in the weeks prior to earnings announcements. And we're only about 6 weeks away from earnings now. The ball should start rolling up any day now.

4.) the new plant is expected to be approved by our FDA in the 1Q of 98; you'll see rumors about this circulating as we begin to enter the 1Q.

5.) i've read that the MCA approval for the plant should be announced between now and jan. 10th.

6.) i think part of the decline of VVUS has been all the pro-Viagra stuff. How much can you hype an unapproved product before the market stops responding to it? Just look at the PFE share price, it seems to have hit the ceiling, Hit 80 recently, and immediately dropped back down. Lack of buyers here. <possible short?>

7.) VVUS has 5 million dollar ad campaign scheduled for January. Nothing like advertising to move a stock higher.
