I received this email today from someone in the chemistry dept. at Michigan State Univ.:

"It's available to universities for instruction
and research. I don't think it can be obtained
commercially.

LINUX source code is avaialable however if you
are interested in studying the UNIX operting system.
LINUX may acctually impact NT more than Solaris
in that it is free and because of it's performance
it can leverage older 486 systems into server applications
that would require a hardware upgrade if NT were
used."
