I bought one ( HP Officejet Pro 8600) and have used it for several months.

I like it a lot. Already I have saved a TON on ink compared to my older HP printer.
Has anyone seen the new HP Officejet Pro X Series?
It has good reviews:

  • Lowest cost per printed page printers

  • Besides low ink cost, I especially like the software and sheet feeder. I can scan paper newsletters, magazine articles, etc. in the feeder, and scan them to BOTH text and PDF. Makes it easy to quote stuff in my writing as well as save things in the cloud so I don't have to worry about a fire destroying stuff I scan.

To me it is well worth the money and will pay for itself in a year or two with ink savings just from printing copies of the newsletters I write so I can see how they look for those who print them out.

Some say HP hasn't innovated, but this is a huge improvement over past "wireless" printers I've had from HP. It configured itself in minutes and was no trouble to configure for my Dell desktop PC and my HP laptop. I can also send it pictures or text from my smart/cell phone via an email address for the phone that HP serves!
