Kirk, lest there be any confusion regarding my original post or your reply, may I point out that The HP Officejet Pro 8600 and HP Officejet Pro X are two entirely different series.

As an update, about a month ago I took a look at the Officejet Pro X. It looks much better up front and personal. Ink consumption is even lower than the Officejet Pro 8600, plus as an added benefit, output is indistinguishable from color laser - other than it looks better!

Long story short, I now have both models at home and really like them. I also bought 48 of the Officejet Pro X models and 24 of the HP Officejet Pro 8600 models for our various companies. To date, everyone is delighted with them.
