Is there ever a valid excuse for poor instructions on a website? Or poor logic? One area particularly annoying is authentication. What's the point of forcing upper, lower, digits and special characters in a user name? As long as the password is mixed, there is no need to force users to jumble up a user name.

Reputable brokerages all have state of the art authentication. Would it be asking too much of our govt workers to replicate the interface of a Fidelity or Schwab?
