H Arik re >>Looks to me that on this vertical run you don't need to exit your calls<<

I think that the market has some upside left--my problem with the calls that I hold is that with only a week and a half left the premium is likely to whittle down fast. It was meant to be a scalp and I was hoping to be out of it by now.

>>If the market (SPX) closes on the positive today the charts in my eye look like a gap up tomorrow open. So far corrections were the minimal necessary for the surge to go on<<

I agree with you that the selling has been quite controlled and the market seems resilient -- why would you see an up close in the SPX today as indicating a a gap up open tomorrow -- is this some form of pattern recognition??

>>A negative close today would IMO indicate a more thorough correction, but I'm looking now for Dow over 9000 and the Millennium Crash starting between end Jan and mid Apr '98<<

I'll stay long the calls and the futures until I get a sell signal -- on the calls I may roll into January if I don't close it out relatively soon -- either thru meeting the profit target or being stopped out.

As far as further downside of any significance there is supposed to be an important cycle low around the middle of 98 and we could see a sell-off commencing at some point in the first quarter to get to the low by mid-98.

>>I'm watching INTC closely. A big time short opportunity if the stock drops below 76 1/2. Will break many supports, and the 5/21 is still on sell<<

I agree that INTC still looks weak and needs to stabilize -- not sure how much downside there is left. What do you see as the downside if it breaks 76 1/2?

>Do you have those stats re the 5/21 EMA crossover system. Would be helpfull for devising the screening method on signals<<

Sorry I forgot about this -- will try and do this in the next couple of days.
