This is an important point. The battle is not a result of evil Republicans. It is a symptom of fiscal irresponsibility. And as long as the country is living in a fiscally irresponsible manner, there are going to be these disagreements and the battles that go with them.

Obama is a very divisive figure; but if the country's budget were balanced and spending was in control, we would not be seeing what we're now seeing.

It is obviously going to happen again and again, more frequently, as the debt continues to spin out of control. At some point even Democrats will stand up against the big spending. Probably too late, but still.
