Last year I cleared 121% return on my Magic 25 1997 investments -- mostly on the still climbing THQ which I bought at 7 5/8 and is now at nearly $21. I got rid of some dogs (URMD comes to mind) very early -- but my criteria were to look for extremely low Price/Sales ratios (hopefully 1 or lower) coupled with a low number of outstanding shares and float -- this cirteria led directly to THQ. I haven't investigated the 1998 Magic 25 enough to screen for stocks with similar characteristics
yet (although at first blush CGN looks like a good bet) but will post a list shortly -- unfortunately one other sure fire way to have made over 100% returns would have been to invest in companies in the Magic 25 that were held by WisdomTree -- THQ and BTIM both fell into this category -- and we all know how they did -- of course this year that won't be possible due to ii dropping any WisdomTree stocks.
