Ed - its obvious they are trying to get the US markets through the tax loss selling with no sell-off on the broader market, so they are gonna hit gold (the traditional safe haven) to make it unattractive until Dec 31/97.

So its goona be tough for any resource company to paddle upstream against this. The problem is that when the professional trading houses see a downtrend like this in New York, they just short the $*#t out of everything, ready to cover when they see a turnaround in spot gold or the XAU.

This is a very unfair market for anyone who can't join in on this kind of play and who of course is a victim.

Dow headin south again, so watch them hammer the spot gold again as it did make a little comeback to $284
