Of all people, i expected your support. We were going to have a democratic process where the majority wins. I would never do anything that the officials who you elected and who you support, don't do.
i can't believe that you are coming out against democracy.
I can't believe that you are coming out in favor of the needs of the individual instead of the needs of the tribe.
Did you see how they laughed at the real emotional pain that people feel after getting attacked on this thread? This is something that bullies do. What happened to you? How can you support bullying those who are in pain?
Why do you come out in favor of freedom and liberty here, on a meaningless message board, when you are against it out there in the real world?
I didn't propose anything that you and other liberals don't support on a daily basis in our government.
You and Bentway and SilentZ all made strong libertarian arguments for why we should keep this thread unmoderated. Why do you apply libertarian principles here and not to our government?
I'm not going to respond to each one of your points. Nor any of the other liberals. If you go back and read my posts today, you will see that I used arguments that are steeped in liberal ideology. Today, you guys were the libertarians and I was the liberal. You'll see my proposal for rules, where I create them myself in secret and promise to consider your input, but never actually promise to include it. You'll see that I promise to post the rules right before the vote. But I will give you ample time to review them. If you don't see the similarity between that and obamacare, well.....
I am proud of you and Bentway and SilentZ for making strong libertarian arguments for individual governorship. I hope you can take that with you. Bentway said it early on."If anyone bugs you, just ignore them. The thread doesn't need a moderator. Like markets, it can moderate itself." SilentZ echoed the view that the thread could moderate itself.
That's what libertarians have been trying to say all along. We don't need government moderators in every aspect of our lives. We can moderate ourselves. We can figure it out.
Did you see my first post? Did you read it? Did you see who it was posted to? TimF is the most dedicated and articulate libertarian that I know (virtually speaking). In the post I responded to, TimF said "does the thread really need a moderator?" Look at my response

How in the hell could you guys read that and not understand that I was being tongue in cheek?
How could you read all of my posts today and not see the liberal arguments in them?
After my first post today, I commented to someone in PM that I figured that it would take you guys about 10 minutes to realize what I was doing. I figured that you would all post around the same time "ignore Jorj, he's trying to trick us with our own arguments". I will say, I am amazed at the amount of mileage that I got out of this. When I was putting together the sentences, I was laughing at the absurdity of what I was posting. I was positive that you guys would see the absurdity of what I was saying too. I was wrong. Probably because none of it seemed absurd to you.
Seriously, have any of you ever seen me talk about hurt feelings?
You guys have nothing to worry about. There isn't going to be any election. Mainly because I am too damned lazy to write a bunch of absurd rules, that I now know you wouldn't find absurd.
And here's a little secret. Each and every one of you would have been perfectly safe from banning. Like this great country, this thread is not meant to be perfect. It clearly has the purpose of being a free for all where everyone works it out and the thread moderates itself.
Even SearchRE would be safe here, even though I banned him from my home thread. He followed somebody to that thread for the sole purpose of making personal attacks. On that thread, we are all personal friends. Just as we aren't obligated to invite every person into our home, I don't feel the obligation to provide a platform for someone to make personal attacks on my home thread. Joseffy is also banned from that thread mainly because he created too much clutter. On this thread, I put him on ignore....
