All weather camping can be a mixed blessing.
As a teen, my Scout troop went camping one
weekend every month except December (holidays).
Jan and Feb could be brutal, but overall it was
good experience.

My trek on the AT was all weather, except for
that once per week stay in a town or hostel.
Hiking along a mtn. ridge in 45mph wind driven
rain wasn't comfortable. But, the next day was
xlnt.

One tends to remember the good, while the bad
fades.

Good to learn that children still learn to enjoy the
outdoors.

I also delivered newspapers on foot, rain, shine or
snow, beginning at age 8. One day the snow was deep
and I wasn't sure I'd survive. Now I hate snow, but
I did survive, though slightly warped.
