Point one is pretty obvious, I also like to use the extreme to get the larger context out of various topics. Using zero taxes is also helpful IMHO. I agree that there is little reason to think that maximum revenue is something the government to shoot for... in fact we need to use "revenue need" as defined by the people of the United States.

Point two is interesting, as then we get into the real nutz and bolts.... "growth"... which is such an interesting term and concept. Biological concepts can be helpful... "growth" is not always "good"... as in many kinds of pathological growth. Economic growth has become a mantra for WS to chant and has become a label inserted in place of a whole lot of important information that no one looks at any more.
