I can put this a bit differently, Bread. The WSJ piece cherry picked the negative evidence about educational benefit, misstated the consensus, and left itself open to the deficiency charge on the basis of its own internal evidence. The two links I gave you show that the consensus, period, forget advocacy, is that pre-k schooling, when done well, is a very good thing. The problem continues to be just how to fund it. And whether we as a country are capable of that kind of civic responsibility.
