I used to work at a burger place, Fubbie. MooreBurger on 19th st. in Austin, Tx. ( now, Martin Luther King blvd), right next to the University of Texas, back in the sixties. It hired hippies, and I was one then. Didn't pay much, but the free burgers and fries kept me fed. I worked the cash register at the window most of the time.

My friend Patrick worked the grill, behind a metal shield you could just see his head over. We were real popular with the cops, because, we made damn good burgers. The cops burgers always got a little "special sauce" from Patrick. I'd hear him back there, coughing up a prime loogie to grace their burgers with. As I served them, It was all I could do not to burst out laughing!
