Politics : Did the Cold War end in a stalemate?

Yes it did: we took an extra couple decades to implode, a blip on the historical chart... course, so was the "cold war", maybe there is a bigger picture concept that it represented?

"No, the Russians beat us": by imploding quicker, they got rid of their imperialist territories and decentralized quicker.

"No we beat 'em up!": We clearly won, as here we sit feasting at the table of victory while they flounder.

"It doesn't and didn't matter": The whole thing was simply a silly idea based on the irrational fear that one country could actually take over the world. Delusional really.... for example, the idea that Russia could/would invade Western Europe, take it all over, and then somehow govern it, is really so delusional as to make one wonder what the hell people are talking about that humans are so special and advanced.
