“Results will show microdiamond content of the PK150 kimberlite intersected last summer. This kimberlite sampled the mantle (where diamonds are brought up from) on its way to the surface which bodes well for its potential to contain diamonds. Caustic fusion analysis involves dissolving the whole sample in caustic soda. The residue left is picked for microdiamonds. Diamonds in samples of this size are small but actually carry a lot of information once the results are plotted on a size vs. frequency graph.”
