We continue to 'scour the planet' for the best video codecs we can. MPEG2 I-frame (the editable kind) is an interesting format and there is some customer interest in it. The DV/DVCAM/DVCPRO format still looks more promising since it such a popular tape (acquisition) format and that's what people seem to want to edit in. The MPEG encoding usually occurs downstream in the distribution process. But everything is always changing so we are watching it carefully...

Regarding our DVCPRO card, we have begun shipments of this card to Panasonic and I remain optimistic about its potential. In their tower, they use our DVCPRO-native TARGA- there is no MJPEG codec at all in that system.

Hope that helps,

Lou.
