I don't think it is "bad"; I think it is a good living for anyone.

But I don't think of it as "highly compensated". I don't know; as I said, it is in the eye of the beholder.

I would like to try getting a job sometime just to experience a modern day workplace, but I think I'm too old and I don't think I would fit in very well in a team situation anymore. In my early days I had what would have been considered a "dream job" of the day, but when I reflect on it, I spent more than half of my years there looking for another job. It just didn't feel right to me.
