I agree, Bentway. Let's drastically reduce spending on defense and foreign aid.

The thing about wasteful spending from the government is that sometimes it's a necessary evil. If there is something that only the government can do, such as defense, law enforcement, and maybe even health regulations, then a certain amount of waste and inefficiency has to be tolerated.

But that has to be a cost that is weighed against the benefits. Just spending for the sake of spending is NEVER stimulative, and in fact could be the worst type of government waste, because there is no benefit to be derived other than the Krugman B.S. of "circulating money."
